My son Finnegan and I have been singing to help pass the time while are all "socially distancing" during the Coronavirus pandemic. Here's something we came up with today... see the lyrics below.
"We Shall Not Be Moved (Coronavirus Edition)"
A bug has come between us But we shall not be moved Let it not demean us We shall not be moved Like a tree planted by the water We shall not be moved. Though we can’t be together We shall not be moved This won’t last forever We shall not be moved Like a tree planted by the water We shall not be moved. Though we are isolated We shall not be moved Compassion underrated We shall not be moved Like a tree planted by the water We shall not be moved. Though some try to divide us We shall not be moved We can stop the virus We shall not be moved Like a tree planted by the water We shall not be moved. (New lyrics by Bill Ackerbauer set to the traditional spiritual "I Shall Not Be Moved," which drew from Psalm 1:3: "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.") (And thanks to Dan E. Zanes for inspiring people to play songs like these together with their loved ones.) #upliftingsongs #coronahomeschool
